I spend most of my life here, even if it’s when I’m not awake. It’s the ultimate place to relax and let it all go. I’m talking about my bed. I love my bed. Perhaps it’s because I got a stinkin’ good deal for it online at matttress.com, but perhaps it’s also because it so super comfy. Either way, this Thanksgiving, I thought I’d make a list of why I’m ever so thankful for my bed.
1. It’s great to cuddle on.
There’s no better place to snuggle with my special someone. We don’t even have to speak. Snuggling on anything else isn’t quite as magical as on my bed.
2. Our family hang out pad.
My kids are mostly teens and they often climb on our king bed with us just to hang out. We’ve watched a movie together on our bed (just once, it was crowded), and had many laughing conversations. These are some of the best times!
3. It’s the centerpiece of my room.
When you come into the master bedroom, my bed it like the king. I just commands respect.
4. I love dressing it up.
Forget the dolls and even the dogs, dressing up my bed in beautiful fabrics and silky soft sheets is exciting. I can change them every season, and add pillows and decor to match. Every time I come into my room my beautifully dressed bed is there to see.
5. Perfect for a time out.
There’s nothing quite like my bed for when I need a break. The privacy of my room is better than on the couch, and I can sprawl out or sit criss-cross or lay on my side among on the pillows. No other piece of furniture offers me this much!
6. Hey, it’s great for sleeping!
Strangely enough, I love my bed for sleeping. It’s comfortable and I can’t wait to stretch out on it every night. Sometimes it’s hard to get up in the morning.
7. It’s an intimate place.
Yes, we know that our beds are a place we can be physically intimate with our spouses and I love that. Yet it’s also a place to be intimate in general. Something about lying in bed makes me want to talk about things with my spouse I wouldn’t normally bring up anywhere else. It feels more safe on our bed. I love the giggles there too.
8. Best when you’re sick.
Do you know someone who never goes to bed, even when they’re sick? I do. It’s like they have an aversion to their bed. Yet, taking that needed break to recoup your body from stress, sickness, and fatigue is so nice on your own bed.
9. Sleeping under the stars.
Have you ever taken your mattress out in your back yard and slept under the stars? Wow, it’s amazing, especially if you live out in the country and can see a whole skyful! You not only get the amazing view, you can enjoy it while resting on your most comfortable mattress (and not just a sleeping bag).
10. Waking up!
The best thing about having a fabulous bed is waking up refreshed!
Being thankful for my bed doesn’t mean I spend all day in it, or waste all my time there. In fact, it’s because I know it’s there after all my work and play is done that makes me feel so thankful for it. There you go, ten things that make me feel ever so thankful for my bed. What are you thankful for?
