What comes to mind when you think about the word creativity? Maybe writing a book or poem comes to mind. What about painting “Happy Little Trees” with Bob Ross? Recycling can always be a good one with recreating something that was intended to be something else. Helping our children see the value in creativity within our kb homes will help foster a new sense of wonderment in the world and help are children realize what they can accomplish and create with a little imagination and hard work.
Stop Trying To Have Your Children Fit Into A Specific Mold
When we realize that our children are not always going to fit into one mold, It is then that we can find their interests and harbor creativity out of what they love and have a passion for. If you wanted an all-star child who plays sports, and then discover that your child would rather have a chess set and books. Do you force them into sports and never let them try out the things they are interested in? Or do you do only do the things that please your child and never try anything new? Or do you try a happy medium where you try and do a little of both to make them try new things and also delve into what they love? Once you can figure that out you are ready to move on to the next topic.
Give Your Children Opportunities To Have Resources Available To Them
If you never have items for them to express their creativity how will they use their imagination and also be able to think of different solutions to a problem when they are creating? Make sure to have lots of space and have materials around to help them make their design, forts, costumes, painting, book writing, imagination soar into greater heights.
Kids Will Gravitate To What You Prepare For Them
This doesn’t always mean making sure the art supplies is stocked up and ready to go, it means more than that. And while having a art stash for your kids is wonderful it also means to have things like their bike tires pumped up so they can rides their bikes, having batteries on hand when they are exploring or making shadow silhouettes on the walls. Trying thinking of things you want your children to be doing and it will help them to naturally gravitate to those items.
Show Your Children How Things Work
Kids love to explore and make science happen without even realizing that they are doing it. Try making an inventor kit for your children so they can take something apart and put it back together. Or have your kids work on building am obstacle course that makes something move or go from one end of the room to the other. Show them about what can happen outside when you mix dirt and water to make mud. Help them to really see the process on how things are made or work.
Allow For Messes To Be Made
If you are trying to keep your home clean and free of messes, then go outside or confine them to the garage or bathtub. If you never let your children get dirty, wet, paint on their cheek. What memories will they have? When you give your children the opportunity to enjoy the everyday simplistic things that are magical to a child such as: rocks, ladybugs, leaves, seashells then you are giving your child something more precious than gold.
