Buying a new home can be daunting when looking at homes for sale in Venice Florida so take this one step at a time. You will find the perfect home, just for you using these 7 points to consider.
1. Feel and First Impression
Does this home feel right to you? Can you picture yourself living in it? Are you already arranging your furniture in it? Can you see yourself raising a family here? Having parties here? Trust your intuition when it comes to how you immediately feel about the home you are looking at. Makes notes first about how the place makes you feel. If you get a good feeling, this home might need to go on your top picks list!
Size of a home is very important. If you are looking at new homes, especially, then you want to make sure it meets your expectations. Do you love the size of the kitchen and master bedroom/bathroom? These are the top two most important areas for most home buyers. Does the space fit you and do you fit the space?
Location is a big make or break in any home buying deal. Does this home provide what you need location wise? How long will your commute be? How close to shopping? Are there busy streets close by, if you have small children this is a very important factor. How are the schools? Be sure it is far from a freeway, airport or train track! Do you want beach access? Think of all of the possibilities and then rank each house as you see them from best location to worst.
The style of your home should fit who you are. If you cannot navigate stairs do not get a 2 or more story home. If you like big, open spaces make sure there are large windows and/or vaulted ceilings involved. If you like colonial verses traditional or a cottage style home be picky and find just the right fit for you.
Of course this is an obvious factor. If you do not qualify for a 500K home do not tour them. Stay within your budget and you will find something that is perfect for your style, wishes and budget. Being house poor can be miserable. This is one of the most important purchase you will embark on so be wise and prudent when looking at your “dream” home, remember that you can sell later and upgrade so be realistic in your expectations.
Is this a home you will be living in full-time or just a vacation home? Your standards may be different so make a list of “whys” and “why-nots” depending on what your overall goal is for the home you are purchasing.
7. Family Consensus
This is probably one of the most important parts to buying your new home. Does your spouse love it too? Do your kids love it? Can your whole family enjoy living in this space and location?
Consider all of the angles to purchasing your next new home. There are more things to think about than you might consider at first. Making lists of your favorite homes and why will help in the end decision process. Relax and breathe and then dig in and begin your search for your new Venice home.
