Check out the 2014 Corvette!!! You can’t find more excitement than this!! You can either have an automatic transmission with 6-speed paddle shift or a manual transmission 7 speed with active rev match. The 2014 Corvette Stingray (C7) engine is an LT1-6.2L V-8 twin turbo with an estimated 450 horsepower. Imagine driving a car that goes 0-60 in four seconds…imagine the thrill. This classic American car is thrilling inside and out, but the greatest thing about it is it’s engine.
The exterior of the new Stingray changed; slightly lower and wider, wheels a little wider and moved forward to give the car better handling, plus many more additions that make it look much more aggressive and awesome. The Chevy engines for this corvette model (otherwise known as the Gen V LT1) have direct-injected fuel with 8 cylinders, 6.2 liters. One new thing when it comes to the engine is the dry sump lubrication, and the variable valve timing. The updated combustion systems help with fuel efficiency while maintaining an incredible amount of power.
There is 450 pound feet of torque (26 more than other corvette engines), peak torque being 4,000 RPM and the horsepower peaks at 6,000 RPM, with a little bit more power than others. Cylinder deactivation helps slightly with conserving fuel by changing to a 3.1 V4, but you can still have the power you desire. One more added feature, thanks to the company Tenneco, is the electrical valves on the exhaust and tailpipe to give it a great sound. This is a signature sound for Corvette…it is a beautiful sound.
You might not like the new aluminum (carbon fiber chassis)design of the C7, but the improved interior (with hand-made leather)of the Corvette, and the added technology to the engine while keeping it still classic, makes for a must to drive. Visit http://www.swengines.com/ for more information.
