As the leaves start to change color and the temperatures begin to cool, it’s time to change up your beauty routine. One of the easiest ways to do that is by switching out your go-to eyeshadow palette for a new one that reflects the colors of the season.
I adore fall. It is without a doubt my favourite time of year. Fall is synonymous with apple cider, pumpkin patches, hay rides, sweaters, and boots. It’s the time of year to go outside, roast some marshmallows, and snuggle up with your love. It’s also a transitional season, as we bid goodbye to the brilliant hues of summer and welcome to the orange, yellow, and deep reds of fall. We replace our tank tops with sweaters and our sandals with boots. It’s also time to switch up your eyeshadow.
Fall shades have been re-imagined and are no longer the drab super matte neutral shades. We now have deep burgundy, glittery gold, and coppery tones to enhance our looks in autumn. I found a few palettes in various price ranges to help you find the perfect shades to complete your fall looks.
The ItsEyeTime Palette by Pixi
Pixi Beauty has been on my radar for quite some time. I’ve always been a fan of their skincare products and am delighted to have received the chance to sample some of their cosmetics as well. I like how this palette begins with a wheat-like tint and progresses to a deep navy blue. The metallic colours in this palette, Snowflake, Bubbly, Getaway, and Ping, are intensely pigmented and apply nearly wet. They are easy to combine and may be put on the lid for a more intense shine.
The matte hues, Good Morning, Honey Bear, Tu Tu, Dark Chocolate, and Snap, are really buttery smooth, and although they aren’t the most pigmented mattes I’ve ever tested, they blend and perform well.
Get Nude Eyeshadow Palette by Femme Couture
This low-cost palette is ideal for the autumn season. With sunglasses for both day and night styles, you’ll have everything you need to look fantastic without breaking the bank. The highly pigmented and long-lasting hues may last all day, allowing you to preserve your flawless eyeshadow makeup for an extended period of time.
TIP: I discovered this man at Sally Beauty, and you can save even more with a rewards card!
Narsissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette by NARS
Narsissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette High pigment, high payoff. A gold mine of twelve velvety shadows to create your richest look yet. Keep your eyes on the prize. Set Features: Newbury Street, Windsor, Privilege, Dover, Foix, Castille, Alnwick, Beaumaris, Splendor, Versailles, Montaillou, Reale.
Pur Minerals Secret Crush Eye Shadow Palette
The Secret Crush Eye Shadow Palette from Pur Minerals is one of the best eyeshadow palettes I’ve ever used! The shadows are so pigmented and blendable, and there’s a great mix of both matte and shimmer shades. The palette comes with a double-ended brush which is really handy, and the mirror inside the lid is a nice touch. The only downside is that the packaging is quite bulky, but overall I absolutely love this palette and would highly recommend it!
Black Opal Aurora Palette
Black Opal has been a staple for women of color for years. The brand has had an overhaul and is no very sleek and modern. I love that it has a mirror and the shades just scream FALL!
COVER SHOT EYE PALETTE
This eye palette is AMAZING! The colors are so beautiful and pigmented, they go on so smoothly, and they last all day! I absolutely love it! In my assessment of this set, I have found that I often comment on the excellent presentation of the individual items inside the set. My apologies, but I have to say that I am a packing h0r! When it comes to purchasing cosmetics, the quality of the packaging can make or break the purchase for me.
THE BARE NATURALS EYE PALETTE
It’s from the bareMinerals line, and it’s stunning. This colour scheme was inspired by the California coast, and although it may not strictly qualify as a fall colour scheme, I couldn’t resist including it since I think it’s adorable.
Clinique Wear Everywhere Neutrals All About Shadow™ 8-Pan Palette
Clinique labeled this palette as a NUDE palette. I think it should be considered nude gone glam with the golden and glittery undertones of this 8 shade palette. A medium-light taupe with a matte texture and muted, warm undertones. The pigmentation was promising, but the powdered consistency prevented most of it from adhering to the skin, resulting in satisfactory rather than outstanding colour payoff.
Falling For You Palette by Honest Beauty
Yep. The Honest Company that you know and love has a beauty line. Ok, so this is probably the most dramatic of all palettes in my roundup. Plus you get the bonus of a blush and 2 lip colors to complete your look all for $35. There are five different eyeshadow shades, a cream blush, and two different lip colours in the palette. It’s true that when I first heard about a palette that included both powders and creams, my first reaction was one of revulsion.
EXTREME NEUTRALS EYE SHADOW PALETTE by Laura Mercier
This palette is great since it includes both matte and shimmery colours, which is my preferred makeup application method. In addition, the chocolate and gold tones often associated with autumn are joined by a range of purple and lavender tones, making for a very welcome change.
Pure Color Envy Sculpting EyeShadow 5-Color Palette
I had to include a brand known for timeless beauty. Estee Lauder is a brand that generations of women have known and trusted and that’s not likely to change any time soon. This particular palette comes in 8 shade combinations so check out all them.
Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Palette by Kat Von D
Products from Kat Von D are among of my favourite. It’s really unconventional, just like I am (or who I think I am). The fact that it doubles as a palette for both the eyes and the cheeks is the best part about it. As a result, it’s like killing two birds with one stone.
Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette by e.l.f
And finally, I’d like to recommend e. l. f., a brand that has become quite popular among those looking to save money. Who doesn’t love rose gold? That’s why the Rose Gold palette is calling my name. With various shades on gold kissed pinks this one is just perfect for me.
I’m hoping you’re feeling encouraged to go out and experiment with some new colors this Fall. It’s important to have a decent nude shadow pallet, but there are so many out there that it may be overwhelming to narrow down your choices. No matter what your style, there’s an eyeshadow palette out there that’s perfect for you. So, ditch your summer palette and give one of these fall-friendly options a try. Now that we’ve reached the Labor Day weekend, most of these stores are having a bargain. Now is the time to stock up!
